No — to both. CollabVyn is not a real-time communication tool and does not replace Slack. It is not a wiki or knowledge base and does not replace Notion. It reads from these tools with your permission and indexes the decision content they contain. Your team keeps using the tools they already use; CollabVyn makes the decisions those tools produced searchable and durable.
CollabVyn's AI identifies decision patterns in Slack threads — things like "we decided", "going with", "let's use", consensus reactions — without requiring explicit labels. You can also configure custom signals per channel.
We use a combination of pattern-matching signals and language model analysis to extract the decision, the options considered, the rationale, and the participants. Every extracted decision goes through a confidence score — low-confidence items surface in a review queue for manual confirmation.
Data is stored in EU-region servers (France and Germany). On the Company plan, you get EU data residency guarantees. No data is processed or stored outside the EU.
English and French natively. Spanish and German in beta. We process multilingual content — English and French decisions in the same thread will be captured correctly.
Under 5 minutes for Slack + Notion. Loom takes an additional 2 minutes. Full historical backfill for the last 90 days of Slack history runs in the background and typically completes within 1–3 hours depending on channel volume.
Yes. Team and Company plans include full export to JSON and PDF. We believe you own your data — if you ever leave CollabVyn, you take your decision log with you.
You have a 30-day grace period to export your data after cancellation. After 30 days, we delete your team's data from our servers. You'll receive two email reminders before permanent deletion.
